One of the greatest monumental treasures of the province Soutomaior Castle. Built in the twelfth century by Fernan Eanes de Soutomaior, the castle has been inhabited by distinguished personalities. Among them, probably the best known was Pedro �lvarez de Soutomaior, the famous Pedro Madruga. It was he who in the fifteenth century was responsible for the reconstruction of the building, badly damaged after Irmandi�os Revueltas.
