Banagher, Co Offaly Cromwell's Castle (N004159) on the Galway bank of the Shannon is a medieval castle which was remodelled in Napoleonic times. Later a battery was placed on the roof. A short distance away is a fine martello tower. This photo has been seen 8704 times
