The bailey bridge  In this photo, taken from the section of bailey ditch by the motte, the modern ditch crossing can be seen, behind the tree. In the 11th C. a similar, though wooden and heavily defended structure spanning the ditch, would have been in place. This photo has been seen 2356 times
