Yes, a box office bomb, and the book was better...Still, I have to say, I liked it, and proudly admit to having my own copy.
How does that castle they built stand up though? It's kind of hard to tell exactly how it was supposed to be, since it's obviously on a level plain in the close shots, but they back away, and pretend it's on top of a mountain with a monastery tucked into the bottom.
PS: I feel the location of the monastery was bunk. All those manuscripts are as valuable as a king's ransom. They would not butt it up against a hill side like that!
