Hello all,i am 33 and have been in the design stage (dream stage) of building a castle since high school. i have some sketches and floor plan drawings of the one i want to build. my question is, has anyone used any of the design software available and if so which one is the best one to get whats in my head into 3d, something i can "tour" any input will help, thank you Sir Patrick |

Sir Patrick, I found the normal commercial home design software woefully inadequate for castles. I did my first pass in Solidworks and really liked what I could do. Now this is a $5,000 package but you can get a 6 month training license (while you are unemployed) for no cost. You can also get a student license for very little cost if you can prove you are a student at a local com. college. Solidworks is easy to learn and a great program. You just have to be a bit creative in obtsaining the license. | |
