Will some one please tell me where Houston Castle is.
Some one put a painting of Houston Castle on the internet, but did not say where it was or identify themself.
I found the town of Houston on my british AAA map. It is located aproximately 9 miles
North West of Glasdgow Scotland.

Use my profile to access my web page, full details of location of Houston Castle are there, including map reference. It was a 16th century courtyard castle of the Earls of Lennox, though little of the original structure remains. The main structure of the castle is a 17th century stable block which once formed the east side of the yard, and a two strey block with and an attic. This is now more of a mansion than a castle, though one of the walls of this is 5ft thick, and belongs to the earlier structure. in the 18th c it belonged to a Macrae, and in 1872 passed to the Spiers family of Elderslie.
Substantial alterations were made in 1893-95.

There is also an early 17th century L-plan tower house of four storeys with an attic that is also called Houston. It is located in Uphall, Lothian at map reference NT 058 716. It is now a hotel.

All times are PT (US)
