I'm attempting to identify a castle in Henfenfeld, Germany, that is pictured on the Henfenfeld website (www.henfenfeld.de), but I e-mailed the web master and the mail was returned to me. The home page there shows a painting of a castle on a hill with a steeple nearby. I believe it is the castle my father's Army unit stayed in during World War II. They were based in Henfenfeld and my dad has a few pictures that show the view out of the fourth floor of the castle. It looks remarkably similar to the one pictured on the Henfenfeld website.I've been told that there are about 7 castles in the Henfenfeld area (about 15 miles from Nuremberg). This one looks promising. I hope to visit Germany and would love to go there. Thank you for any information you can provide on this castle!

Have had time only to search briefly for your site, and unsuccessfully . However you may wish to try yourself. The following link will allow you to explore the various regions and states of Germany in some detail, and if you are familiar with the area you are looking for you will have a head start on me. http://www.roadstoruins.com/statespgml.html but try this one first, http://www.roadstoruins.com/veldenstein.html ------------------ 'Give me the groves that lofty brave, The storms, by Castle Gordon'. Visit my web-site at www.castlesontheweb.com/members/wurdsmiff/castles.htm Gordon. [This message has been edited by wurdsmiff (edited 03-01-2000).] | |
