Hello to all of you, sirs and ladies and good day! I was just wondering since I'm very unexperienced with castles, prices etc. is it possible to buy a castle instead of just renting one, or don't companies take such big jobs?

I have inherited a lot of money (the exact amount would exceed $18M in cash if it affects the size) and me and my wife have always dreamed of having our own castle. If any of you could help us (you can post a referral site and you'll get good commission) we would really appreciate it.

So far we haven't seen any companies that could do it or found any websites online about them (except we found this one with google and the people and moderators seemed really nice on these message boards so we decided to ask help here).

I know it can be hard but if any of you can find even an old castle for sale we are ready to warmly thank you and possibly send you a symbolic-thank in money, via PayPal, check, etc. (we could be talking about 1000 dollars or even inviting you over to the castle ;-) as a way of showing our gratefulness).

ANY castle will do, old or new or maybe a brand new just-built.

Thank you so much if ANY of you can help us! We will be grateful for the rest of our lives. Have a nice day everybody and have fun! We'll check back in a few days.

Just thinking of a reply.

I did post up a reproduction castle here in North Wales a month or so ago Take a look at that one. If it hasn't gone.
Just go and have look where I posted it.

Yep, just go to 'General Discussion', and look at my posting 'For Sale'.
There are always a few castles for sale somewhere.
Best of luck.

Wow! What an interesting dilemma. I wish I had that problem...ha..ha..ha..

But seriously, have you gone through books on Castle styles? Decided on the kind of castle, square footage, rooms, ammenities, location, cost, time factor?
The internet is a source-no doubt-but you may have better luck hunting around in the location (town, state, country) for which you are seeking to buy/build this castle of yours. I would suggest posting ads wherever you would think would get the best replies.(In newpapers, trade publications, and the like.)

There has to be some very talented craftsman out there that are up for the challenge.

As far as buying/renting an existing one..well, I certainly have no experience there..I would try contacting well known travel agencies and realtors.

I would think that most of the castles in the world (that aren't falling apart from age) would be on historical registers and owned privately..maybe being used as tourist attractions. Others are probably permanent museums.

I wish you all the luck in your endeavors!
