![]() ![]() No one ever reads the glossary these days, a crenel is partner to a merlon. Check the links at the foot of the page. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() Just a quick ? Would this describe a crenel? A battlement is a wall with high places to hide behind during time of attack and low places to look and shoot through during battle. So crenels are the ones uptop. Correct? and merlons were the bottom ones? ------------------ |

![]() ![]() Other way round. A Merlon is the high 'tooth', and a crenel the gap or low bit. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The crennel is located between the parapets if im not mistaken...... Combinr crennel and this 1 other thing and its the: Crennalation i think |

![]() ![]() ...the other thing is a merlon, as mentioned already, and together they make crennelations. A parapet is a wall built for protection at any sudden drop, as at the edge of a roof, this is often crennelated in a castle. ------------------ |
