Why did people like to live near the castles? |

I don't know if people did like to live near a castle at all. But considering that castles were not only built for defence but were centres of administration and would have provided employment for many people I'm guessing that it would have been convenient to live near a castle. |

people lived outside the castle for protection and for it's good facilities in order for people to live near the castle they did work for the lady and lord or other upper class members of the castle |
